Special Prayer Intention for Today

Pray for all those in great physical or emotional pain.

Prayer to the Sacred Heart for the Sick

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place into Your Hands, wounded out of love for us, all those I know and love who are ill, injured or in need of Your healing touch in any way. I remember those who are at home and those in hospitals and nursing homes, those who are recovering slowly, those who are lonely or afraid. Be with them all, most loving Jesus, especially those for whom I now pray: (pause to mention all those you wish to remember.)

Lord Jesus, please send Your Mother Mary to be with them in their time of need. May she who knew life's sorrow and pain in her own heart, console them with the joy of her Immaculate Heart now reigning with You in heaven.

In Your wisdom, Lord, increase in them Your gifts of Faith in Your Church, Hope in Everlasting Life, and Love both forgiving and peace-giving. If it is Your will, restore them to fullness of health and strength. And bring all of us home at last together with Mary and all Your Saints. Amen.

O Jesus, Savior of the world, sanctify your priests and seminarians.

Let us pray for our Armed Forces as they work to bring about peace in the world.

SPECIAL PRAYER INTENTION FOR TODAY.

Let us say at least one extra decade of the Rosary today for the conversion of our loved ones

Prayer for the Conversion of Unbelievers

Holy Spirit, on the first Pentecost, through Your inspiration many were transformed, becoming adopted children of God and faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. They were animated by the love of God that is poured into us by You, Holy Spirit, who are given to us.

Enlighten the minds of unbelievers, incline their wills to accept the Good News, and prompt them to be obedient to the Teachers of the Church about whom Christ said: "He who hears you, hears me; he who rejects you, rejects me." Teach them how to pray and prepare their minds and hearts for your coming into their souls. Amen.

Pardon Prayer

This prayer was taught by the Angel of Peace to the 3 children of Fatima during his first apparition in 1916.

My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love Thee.

I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love Thee. Amen.

A Prayer for all the Prayer Warriors (Intercessors) & those that we pray for.

Jesus came to set the captives free.

God, in Your great love and mercy cover us/them with Your Precious Blood,  and flood us/them with Your love and light.  Surround us /them with Your protective angels, Your ministering angels, Your healing angels.  May St. Michael and all his choir of warring angels keep
us safe from any influence and power that would keep us from accepting Jesus' love.

Jesus, you came to set the captives free.  May the power of our love and prayers for our hurting brothers and sisters join with Yours as you present our prayers to Our Heavenly Father.

This we ask in Jesus' name. Amen.

(NOTE: the above prayer can be used in many situations)

Always remember that:
The transformation of our lives is effected by the love of the Father,
through the intercession of Jesus,
but it is facilitated through the working of the Holy Spirit.

Special prayer intention for today

For all those who feel far away from God.  That they may feel drawn into the warmth of His love and care for them today.

So many good people petition for the conversion of family members, friends and sinners in general. We suggest this most perfect prayer to be said several times per day for the person or persons needing conversion. It is the prayer for conversion given to the children of Fatima by the Angel of Peace. Such a conversion prayer, sent to us directly from heaven, surely is most efficacious. Please copy and use for the salvation of living souls for whom you care and love:

(Given to the three children by the Angel who
preceded Our Lady's first appearance to them.)

PARDON PRAYER

MY GOD, I believe, I adore, I trust, and I love Thee!
I ask pardon for for those who do not believe,
do not adore, do not trust and do not love Thee.

(3 times)

MOST Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly.
I offer Thee the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity
of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world,
in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference
by which He is offended.  And through the infinite merit
of His Most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners.

(3 times)

"Only after the Last Judgment will Mary get any rest; from now until then, she is much too busy with her children."

St. John Vianney

Please continue to keep my father-in-law in your prayers, he has many health issues. “I was always in your presence; you were holding me by my right hand.” Psalm 73:23

Prayer For Guidance And Protection To Those I Love

O heavenly Father, our Protector and Guide, You are the greatest Friend and Joy we have! To be able to come to You in prayer like this is the most beautiful part of our lives!

It is not for myself that I want to pray today, dear Father, but for those who are near and dear to me and about whom I am worrying. You know what they are facing, dear Father. And You know most of all the deepest reasons why these things have come upon them!

And You know how I want to help. Truly I think it would be easier if I could only face what they are facing. But You know how helpless we are to help another even though we know what is just and right.

Only You are left, dear Father. Do be with them in all things at all times. Protect them from enemies and evil, my Father. Forgive them their sins and put love of others in their hearts.

Do make them happy in their lives at home, dear Father, and help them live as You would have them live. Above all, put love in their hearts for You.

And thank You, my Father, for Your goodness to them and to me. Thank You for Your love and guidance and protection! May we honor you all the days of our lives. And be happy and uplifted even as I feel right now! Amen.

SAINT FAUSTINA'S PRAYER
FOR THE HOLY CHURCH AND PRIESTS

O my Jesus, I beg Thee on behalf of the whole Church: Grant [her] love and the light of Thy Spirit, and give power to the words of priests so that hardened hearts might be brought to repentance and return to You, O Lord.  Lord, give us holy priests; Thou Thyself maintain them in holiness. O Divine and Great High Priest, may the power of Thy mercy accompany them everywhere and protect them from the devil's traps and snares which are continually being set for the souls of priests. May the power of Thy mercy, O Lord, shatter and bring to naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of priests, for Thou canst do all things (1052).

Jesus, my most beloved,  I beg Thee for the triumph of the Church, for blessings on the Holy Father, and on all the clergy; for the grace of conversion for impenitent sinners. And I ask Thee for a special blessing and for light, O Jesus,  for the priests before whom I will make my confessions throughout my lifetime (240).

Let us pray for our Armed forces especially our wounded and recovering men and women.

HAVE YOU PRAYED THE ROSARY TODAY?

Where are my BEADS??!!! Shouted St. Padre Pio.

Have you prayed the Holy Rosary today?
Did you follow the Mother of God as she labored day by day…through life’s journeys?

Were you in Nazareth when she heard the invitation?
Pondered how her life would change; showed no inclination, to turn and run?
Instead, she turned her heart to the Father and said,

“Be it done undo me according to your word”

Have you prayed the Holy Rosary today?
Let the beads slide through your fingers as you say, “Hail Mary…”
Felt your anxiety erase, as you continue, “FULL of grace…”

Were you there, in the barn when she laid His head on her breast?
There, in the temple when she heard Simeon with the next behest?
“You yourself will be put to the test!”

Were you there today, when He stepped out of the Jordan?
Did you watch in wonder as
He changed water into wine,
Wine into blood,
Bread into body,
Bringing His Holy Kingdom here to this place just for us?

Were you there today, praying the Rosary?

Were you there when He knelt in the garden, sweat turning to drops of blood?
Did you watch Him be humbled?
See Him groan,
See Him stumble,
Under the weight of the cross,
Did you watch Him die for us?

Were you there today, when He ROSE AGAIN! ?
Did you see Him turning tears to JOY in the garden?
Did you see Him smile, as He turned His eyes toward heaven, ascending free?
Leaving the Holy Spirit here for you and for me,
Taking His mother home to Himself
Finished at last with this life’s journey’s?

The greatest love story ever told, sits and waits again to unfold…day after day…bead after bead…at stop lights and soccer games,
in cities, in farm fields, on long lines, on buses and trains, even on jet planes.

He waits for you.
Pray the Holy Rosary again today, and everyday.
Won’t you?

Dear Lord, Help me to let go and let You. Urge me to let go of my impatience and to open my heart to Your Loving Patience. Teach me how to let go of my pompous attitude in thinking I'm the only one capable of solving all of my problems. Counsel me on how to let go of my cares, my worries and the noises in my life ...and to let You surround me with Your Tranquil Assurances of my comfort.

Encourage me to let go of my selfishness and let You show me the benefit of praying for others who seek Your Protection, Your Healings, Your Forgiveness, Your Compassion and Your Rainbows after raging storms. Remind me, Lord, of the Holy Benefits when I let go and let You lead me on Your Path. Smile with me, Lord, when I finally let go and let You take over. Nod Your Head in Sanctified Approval when I let go of my follies and let You replace them with positive goals in my life. Amen.

Blessed St. Joseph, patron of all working people, obtain for me the grace to labor in a spirit of penance for the atonement of my many sins. Help me to be conscientious in my work so that I may give as full a measure as I have received.

May I labor in a spirit of thankfulness and joy, ever mindful of all the gifts I have received from God that enable me to perform these tasks. Permit me to work in peace, patience, and moderation, keeping in mind the account I must one day give of time lost, talents unused, good omitted, and vanity of success, so fatal to the work of God. Glorious St. Joseph, may my labors be all for Jesus, all through Mary, and all after your holy example in life and in death. Amen.~~ taken from "Prayers for Today," published by Leaflet Missal Co.

A PRAYER FOR THOSE WHO ARE SUFFERING

Gracious God, all around me people are suffering. When I turn away from my own problems, I feel sorrow for the problems of others. Through the news, the media, and my conversations, I am daily confronted with the pain and suffering of so many innocent people in my life and in the world. Suffering seems to eagerly eat at the edges of life until people are worn down with sadness and despair. Even though I do not understand the reasons for suffering, I believe that you are a God of love, a God of compassion. I pray that you will be with all those this day that are in pain, who suffer silently and alone, who feel abandoned and left by the side of life’s road. Wrap your arms of grace around them, until they know they are safely held in your embrace. And, I pray, that you will fill my heart with the same compassion, and give me eyes to see how I can lovingly be a part of their healing. I ask this for the sake of your great love. Amen.

Update - the 2 requests I had sent for custody hearings for a dad of a baby
and a dad of a 3 year old went well. Both the boys have been placed with the
dads, The mom's were both drug users and the mom of the 3 year old is the one
who had grabbed him off the school playground. Praise the Lord for successful
outcomes. Lord we ask for healing for these moms, that they turn away from
drugs and find safe, nurturing stable people who will lead them to you.

The folllowing article is from www.holyspiritinteractive.com

The healing power of the Eucharist

In today’s Gospel reading, Jesus makes himself known as the "bread of life". What does it mean to be bread? And how does that affect life?

It's sad when the practicalities of providing communion to large congregations make it necessary to use little flat wafers of bread for the paschal meal, because it doesn't seem very bread-like. In the early years, Christians celebrated the Lord's Supper with bread that looked like bread and they broke off their own pieces after it became the Body of Christ. We've forgotten some of the rich meaning behind sharing the "breadness" of the Eucharist.

During the consecration prayers, Jesus comes to us fully, with all his humanity and divinity, in a form that we can touch. We can hold him. We can kiss him. We can consume him into our physical beings, and now thusly united to him, we are consumed by him and our lives become his life (assuming we don't reject that life the moment we walk out the door). Such an encounter with God should change us every time!

Why then doesn't every Catholic who receives Communion leave Mass transformed? Since we've received the fullness of Jesus himself, it seems that no matter how little we've paid attention, we should be holier than when they came in.

Before Jesus distributed the Passover bread to his disciples, he broke it. It was the broken bread that he gave when he said, "Take and eat. This is my body, which will be given up for you." We are, in fact, transformed when we become aware that we are uniting ourselves to the brokenness of Christ.

It was in Christ's brokenness that he delivered us from evil. Therefore, it is in our brokenness that our humility unites us to Christ, it is in our brokenness that we become free from the power of evil. A broken spirit is ready to depend on God instead of self. A broken heart needs the love that no human, other than the divine Jesus, is perfect enough to give. A broken family is forever wounded unless Jesus becomes the center of each person's life, and when we want reconciliation but the other person refuses, we give our broken hearts to the perfect love of the only One who can heal us.

Recognizing our brokenness is what begins change within us. Accepting the blessing of our brokenness is what empowers the change. And offering our brokenness to the Lord – to be used in loving service for others, like Jesus – is what completes the transformation.

This is what it means to truly receive Jesus, the bread of our life, in the Eucharist.

Daily Inspiration

April 24 : I Missed Church...But God Understands!

Quite often, when people are encouraged to put aside whatever is preventing them from attending services regularly, they will say: "Well, I really should be there, but I think God understands!" God has gone on record in Hebrews 10:25 as saying, "Not forsaking the assembling...." He does not understand why some of His people willfully hold to habits of forsaking the assembly! God does understand that we need to meet to praise Him and study His Word. God understands that others need the encouragement of our presence, we are a family that He put together. He does understand group fellowship, the power of people meeting together for mutual strengthening.

But do we understand those things? Many times we do not-and that is why so many allow Satan to bring one little excuse after another into their lives until they are separated from our God and His assembly. Let us pray that God will help us to understand the need, the purpose and the power of attendance to Bible classes and worship services whenever the doors are open. And let us pray for the courage to do our part in making the gathering of the saints a time of love, praise, and spiritual growth! It is a matter of spiritual life and death, really, not only for us, but also for others whom we are influencing. Think about it!

Whenever I am full of doubt, misgivings, and feel inferior, I need to see me as You see me. Whenever I feel like I do not count, show me how much I count in Your Eyes. Whenever I feel like I do not belong, help me see how much I belong to You. Whenever I feel inferior, show me how You fully love me. Whenever I feel like I am nothing, show me the wonders of Your creation and help me see how I am Your most wondrous creation of all.

Help my spirit rise into Your heavenly realms. Let the joy of my salvation overtake all the sadness and grief I could ever feel. I praise Your Name for all You are, all You have done, and for the home You have built for me in Heaven above. All these things I humbly pray in the Name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon Whom I can rely. Amen.

Teach them how to pray and prepare their minds and hearts for your coming into their souls. Amen.

Happy Easter.

May God bless you all abundantly this Glorious Easter Day.  May His angels bring all of your prayers and deepest desires to the throne of Our Heavenly Father and may He bring about His perfect will and desire for each of you and yours this day.  May you feel the warmth of His love for you, as you have never felt it before.  May you have the knowledge and assurance that you really are treasured by God.

Today we pray for Our Holy Father.

Pray for the protection of every member of our military wherever they serve.

Easter

Many people celebrate Easter as the first holiday of Spring. They color Easter eggs, buy flowers for the garden and plan a big family meal. However as Christians we know there is a deeper and more profound meaning to this special day. This is a time of rebirth for our spirit as we celebrate the Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as a Holy Day. His Resurrection fulfilled the promise of salvation and marks the fruition of God's love for each one of us. It is in truth, the very foundation of our Christian Faith. This message is made clear and brought to the hearts of the faithful in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world as to give his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him may not perish but have life everlasting." What a wonderful time to say a Rosary in this, the holiest season of the year. Take a moment of reflection as you recite the words in each Hail Mary, "Blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus." The Miracle of Easter is the greatest manifestation of the promise given in the birth of Jesus and realized in the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our faith is rewarded in three simple but powerful words, "He Has Risen" (Mark 16:6-9)

The following is Jesus promise to us of His immense Mercy and Love for us.

In Christ's Words
In His revelations to St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, Jesus made mention of His desires concerning the Feast of Mercy (Divine Mercy Sunday) on 14 different occasions. The most comprehensive revelation can be found in entry 699 of the Diary of St. Faustina Kowalska:

My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy.

In preparation for Divine Mercy Sunday (April 15th) We begin the Divine Mercy Novena today.

Intentions
For each of the nine days, our Lord gave Saint Faustina a different intention:
All mankind, especially sinners; the souls of priests and religious; all devout and faithful souls; those who do not believe in God and those who do not yet know Jesus; the souls who have separated themselves from the Church; the meek and humble souls and the souls of little children; the souls who especially venerate and glorify His mercy; the souls detained in purgatory; and souls who have become lukewarm.

"I desire that during these nine days you bring souls to the fountain of My mercy, that they may draw there from strength and refreshment and whatever grace they have need of in the hardships of life, and especially at the hour of death."

What You Can Do
You, too, can make a novena of prayer for these intentions and others, especially by praying the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy.

The Chaplet of The Divine Mercy Novena (The first day of the Novena begins today, Good Friday)

How to say the chaplet of Divine Mercy can be found at this site  http://www.thedivinemercy.org/message/devotions/praythechaplet.php

Prayer for the Chalice of Strength.

My God and Father in heaven, that night in the Garden, on the Mount of Olives, your Son told Peter: "Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father who will promptly send more that twelve legions of angels to my defense?" (Mt 26:53)

Father, we ask you now: send these twelve legions of angels with chalices of strength out into the Gethsemane of the Holy Church to defend and assist our priests, who, strengthened by the power and presence of these angels, may faithfully fulfill their priestly missions.  Amen

Daily Reflection
April 5, 2012

Finding Jesus in dirty feet

Why did Jesus wash the feet of his disciples? Not because they were too lazy to handle their own hygiene and as their servant he wanted to make life easy for them! Rather, he gave them (and us) a model to imitate.

Naturally, we want Jesus to make our lives easier. Isn't that the purpose behind many of our prayers? Well, surprise! We do get what we ask for, but not the way we had imagined. When we imitate Jesus, it's the way we cope with the difficulties of life that becomes easier.

Have you washed anyone's feet lately? Maybe you haven't literally soaped up a friend's smelly feet as a sign of your unconditional love, but I'm sure you have given of yourself in a foot-washing way.

To wash the feet of others is to love them even when they don't deserve your love.

To wash the feet of others is to do good to them even if they don't return the favor.

To wash the feet of others is to consider their needs as important as your own.

To wash the feet of others is to forgive them even if they don't say, "I'm sorry."

To wash the feet of others is to serve them even when the task is unpleasant.

To wash the feet of others is to let them know you care when they feel downtrodden or burdened.

To wash the feet of others is to be generous with what you have.

To wash the feet of others is to turn the cheek instead of retaliating when you're treated unfairly.

To wash the feet of others is to make adjustments in your plans so you can serve their needs.

To wash the feet of others is to serve them with humility and not with any hope of reward.

Notice the posture of Jesus. He knelt. Imagine Jesus kneeling in front of you now, lowering himself to the level of your feet and tenderly ministering to your needs. He is in fact doing this, right now, today. And he does it again and again, every day!

He is asking you to go and do likewise: Be the hands of Jesus that wash the feet of the people around you.

By serving others, we gain understanding of what Jesus did for us 2000 years ago – and we become more observant of how he's ministering to us right now. We meet Jesus in the dirty feet that we lower ourselves to clean.

Daily Prayer for Priests

O my Jesus, I beg You on behalf of the whole Church … give us holy priests. You yourself maintain them in holiness.

O Divine and Great High Priest, may the power of Your mercy accompany them everywhere and protect them from the devil’s traps and snares, which are continually being set for the souls of priests.

May the power of Your Mercy, O Lord, shatter and bring the naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of priest, for You can do all things. – St. Faustina (Diary, 1052)

Lord, continue to bless and protect our troops and their families.

Our Lady's message to Mirjana Soldo of April 2nd, 2012

"Dear children, As the Queen of Peace, I desire to give peace to you, my children, true peace which comes through the heart of my Divine Son. As a mother I pray that wisdom, humility and goodness may come to reign in your hearts – that peace may reign – that my Son may reign.  When my Son will be the ruler in your hearts, you will be able to help others to come to know Him.  When heavenly peace comes to rule over you, those who are seeking it in the wrong places, thus causing pain to my motherly heart, will recognize it. My children, great will be my joy when I see that you are accepting my words and that you desire to follow me. Do not be afraid, you are not alone. Give me your hands and I will lead you. Do not forget your shepherds. Pray that in their thoughts they may always be with my Son who called them to witness Him. Thank you."

Help Me To Let Go, and Let God

Amen.

Prayer for Shut-Ins

Dear Lord, because of my difficulty in getting around
I am no longer able to go wherever I please and am at the mercy
of others to be taken out of this house.
Let me not withdraw from the outside world,
but continue to be interested in it.
For You are there as well as here with me; You are everywhere
in this magnificent world You made.
Enable me to realize that all the different stages of life are a gift from You;
and each age has its own rewards as well as its problems.
Let me thank You for each new day's life and use that day to grow in grace
and in the knowledge and love of You.
Help me when I am tired, and grant me the strength to go on.
And at the end of my journey through life,
let me see your glory in heaven. Amen.

"Christ has no body but yours," by St. Teresa of Avila

Christ has no body now on earth but yours; yours are the only hands with which He can do His work.
Yours are the only feet with which He can go about the world; yours are the only eyes through which His compassion can shine forth upon a troubled world. Christ has no body on earth but yours.
